Rubber Planet Parts The Myst, Takes Top Spot

Denver based Pop Rock band Rubber Planet ( has done what most of the 150,000 bands on can only dream of by attaining the #1 spot overall at the popular music site. In the race up the charts, the song "One More Day" displaced the popular video game soundtrack piece "Myst III- Exile". "The Internet has proven to be a great promotional resource for Rubber Planet." Said guitarist Brice Hancock, "With the promotional support of Colorado Musicians Allied Promotions ( I believe we have a shot at the industry noticing us through our success online as well as in the brick and mortar world."

In July of 2000, Rubber Planet played on The Vans Warped Tour with such major acts as Green Day, Long Beach Dub All Stars, Papa Roach, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Weezer. Songs from Just Visiting, (the band's sophomore release) have received airplay on many area radio stations including KTCL, KBPI, The Peak, KCSU, KPAW, and AM 1190. The band is currently touring from Casper, Wyoming to Omaha, Nebraska and plans for other tours are in the works. Among the tour stops for Rubber Planet is a special show as part of the Heineken Summer Series Tour on June 30, 2001 at the Soiled Dove ( in Denver, Colorado. The band is currently filling clubs throughout the Midwest, writing songs, shopping demos to labels, and working on a new album, due for release this summer.
